New Minn Kota Riptide Terrova 80 lb. Thrust, 60" Shaft, Installed

Recently added the Minn Kota Riptide Terrova 80 lb. Thrust, 60" Shaft, Wireless Remote to my 1989 V20. This is not the newer brushless Quest model which is more expensive. This one was around $2k. Only used it once so far for ocean fishing and all I can say is Wow! The GPS spot lock is a game changer being able to anchor up and fish without dropping a physical anchor. Amazing! I hated dropping an anchor chain and rope even though I have a windlass it is still a pain. I don't want to sound like a commercial but it is awesome! There are other great brands to choose from but I went with Minn Kota.

Did you cut the bow rail for the install? Also, looks like you have a boarding ladder up there on the bow, never seen that before.

Thanks, I am loving it already! I was very reluctant to spend as much on a trolling motor as the boat is probably worth but I was sure tired on anchoring in the ocean and almost always missing the fishing spot and having to re anchor several times. I've only been out once so far and it is worth every penny!
Yes, I did have to cut the 7/8" bow rail on both sides to fit the motor, it would not have worked without cutting. I bought stainless pole from Zoro and added some extra support to the bow rail ends with fittings on both ends, the bow rail is very sturdy with the added support. The boarding ladder was added before to get in/out when the boat is beached.
