new guy here

Hello All!

Im a new guy who is just now on his second boat, a 90 wellcraft v20 that i bought right. it currently has a force 150 with a blown head gasket on it,and my plan is to swap on a johnson 200 that i have here.

i bought the boat right, paid 2k for boat and trailer and she is CLEAN!!! it snowed as i was bringing it home today, so im going to have to postpone pics!

thanks for the great v20 resource place, 2 of my uncles have them, and it is quite possibly my favorite hull, even in my young age!!

Hi and welcome aboard. Since I live in NJ I'm just curious if you do also?...Actually there is a large contingent of NJ residents in this site. We span the state from North to South, so you're in good company. Looking forward to seeing pics of your new baby.

Yep im in South jersey, Delaware bay is generally my home waters, but i trailer, so i pretty much follow the fish, or tube or whatever.

Pics are attached!!

Good looking boat. Get as much snow off her as possible, make sure the plug is out, tilt her so she'll drain and get a cover on her until the spring time. Saves on upholstery fading and tearing, wooden stringers rotting and soft floors. The best covers (IMHO) are oval winter pool covers. The last 10 times longer than the blue tarps, are more of a custom fit and cost less than then blue tarps. Plus they come with a coated steel cable to hold them down.

Absolutely, moving her to get her to drain better today, will probably get it in the building this weekend so i can begin the motor swap and all of the other f"fun" tings to get it to my specifications :)

thanks for the advice on the pool cover!!

Get the 12 x 24 foot 15 year cover. Remember that these are pool covers, so there's an extra 4 feet of "skirt" all around. Normally that would hang down on a pool side, so really the cover size is 20 x 32. More than enough to cover a "V", the outboard and most of the tires. The 8 year is way too thin IMHO and while the 12 year is good, for the few extra bucks I like the 15 much better. I swear, for the number of people from this site that I've sent to them they should pay me. lol But they are a good company, with fast shipping and a responsive service dept if it's ever needed.
