My first yak trip!

Well Ive made fun of kayaks in the past but now I have tried it and LOVED it.

Its a neat experience that I think helps you focus on fishing more than running from spot to spot and wasting fuel/time.

Man what a cool time!

I also lost a shortie flounder and another slot red about 17" right at the YAK.

The "mess"...NICE flatties my boy Toni caught.

He is a cool guy that I work with and let me borrow a yak.

Now Im hooked!!

I been looking at em myself this week.

Who all yaks here and what kind do yall have?

See? Now you guys are catching on. Very nice Stinky. Ain't it a hoot? You are right about focusing on the fishing itself.

Yeah. Liquid Logic Manta Ray 12. Probably going to drag it out of winter hibernation this weekend. Can't wait to get on it again. The Manta Ray has a lot of similar characteristics as the Tarpon in both layout and handling.

I LOVE the manta rays! They are da bomb diggity dawg, yo!

My choice would be a MR, Fish and Dive or a Tarpon 140. However...I THINK my buddy might sell me the 120 for around 400 bones...kinda hard to beat..ya know.

$400 is a good deal for that yak. Any of the aforementioned choices will set you back about 1G after you outfit it. That's a big savings and hard to beat.

Werd....Ive also got a lead on a few used setups around 700....theres no way I can do a grand...i would if I could, but just cant right now.

oh jesus christ
The only positive thing about this is that Stink will pervert it well beyond it's full potential.
My favorite obstacles kayuckers, bicyclists and anything else in my way that refuses to yield.
Remind me to show you the bicycle I take on hunting trips.

Stink, look at Sams Club.
Start off with something cheap first.
While you're there look at the half wetsuits for winter seasons.

LOL...you killin me.

I cant do a cheapo...everything I do has to be done right or I wont enjoy it. I cant go way expensive, but as least a mid grade "boat" for sure. Plus I can tell this is something that I will really enjoy doing often!

Im 20-50 miles from saltwater, but then most of my trips I go alone and fish within a mile of the launch...what kinda sense does that make? I need to save some fuel towing and take a YAK!!! I was just like you!! I use to dog on yakers and make fun of them big time...till I tried it! It rocks!! Dont knock it till you have tried it!!

Aint that what MJ tell CB?

Got rid of the one I had a few weeks ago.
Ended up replacing it with a canoe.
(only pic and that was it's normal pose)

My MR 12 was $721 new. I was just figuring after outfitting and a paddle, PFD, and other bling you be @ 1G
I'm adding a rudder this year.
