9/3 - Had three 14 year olds (daughter, nephew and friend) aboard this morning along with my brother in law. The plan was to fish inshore a while and maybe run out and try to put a big king on the line for the kids if we weren't catching. Got a nice early start so I decided to go take a peek at the ocean. As soon as we cleared the rocks I changed plans and set the course for bottom fishing instead. Nice smooth ride out (30 miles) at 25mph+. Fished 4 different spots in 60' - 65' and pulled in 10 bsb's to 18", a grunt and one lone triggerfish. Kids did all the catching and everybody had a great time.

9/4 - Had two 11 year olds (youngest daughter and niece) aboard this day, along with my nephew and brother in law. Nephew really wanted sheepshead so that is what we did first. Fished 4 spots and nada on the sheeps. One rat red, one micro seabass, and a starving pinfish is all we could muster. Switched things up and did some drifting and anchoring for flounder. Got another red and two flatties - all short.

Pics as soon as my nephew sends them....

Sounds like a fun weekend.

I was at Holden Beach for the weekend, but didn't drag the V down. Sunday was flat calm as far as I could see from the hill, but Monday looked brutal out..... 4 to 6 footers about 10 feet apart.

Saturday was by far our best "window" of opportunity. This was my first gig at captaining on a pure bottom fishing trip. We started off a little ruff between finding the fish and teaching the kids how to hit bottom and when to reel etc. Really enjoyed watching the kids get excited about catching. My favorite part is positioning the boat for the perfect drift over fish and saying, "DROP EM!"
