Long Island Fisherman

If any L.I.F. are at all interested, meaning myself ,TheTinMan and crew, will be on the cover of The LongIsland Fisherman magazine this week. I think the article is about lasts seasons fishing review and those BIG makos we caught. I believe the picture on the cover will be of the 440lber, The week before, we bought in a 376lber and lost a 600-700lber at the boat >:( >:( >:(. The TinMan did post some pics back in mid November but they were lost when MJ crashed the site [ ;D].......I know Charley, who cares!!! :)

got me all wrong phes. i do care.

my 8 year old has been in the fisherman a couple times.

best dam fishing magazine going.

magine if'n they put my gorgeous face on the cover?

there would be pandemonium at the newsstands.

well chuckles, neither you or I was on the cover this week....my buddy Kevin, who owns the boat, is pretty friendly w/ Fred Garafalo, and Fred told Capt. Kev that we'd be in the march 8th or the issue after that. So maybe next week.....hmmmm, I hope it wasn't LAST week. Was your little guy on the "trophy pages"?

I helped a guy out who was broken down on Montauk hwy.....I bought him to the nearest gas station so he could get some anti-freeze. I was in my truck and had two surf poles up in the racks and my tackle box/ waders etc. in the cab. He says to me something like "you're a fisherman", I reply , "yes" and he proceeds to tell me about his neighbor and good friend T. Melton. So on so on, I get him back to his crappy car and he says "gimme your address, for helping me out I'll get you a subscription to the Fisherman for a year". I thought to myself that this guy is just saying something nice, but there is no way he's gonna come through with this.....lemme tell ya, the LIF was at my door every week for about five years straight. I'm sure this guy didn't get me a five year subscription, it just kept showing up every week. I even put in a change of address and it then arrived there too. Then one day it stopped, next week, nothing, following week, zero. That was right around the time Melton was no longer the editor, or whatever happened to him. I'll have to admit , I get the Nor'easter now...it's free....L.I.F. is still a good source of info, but your right about not what it used to be......a little to much "fluff' now, not as "salty" as it used to be

I was just on a google search and I can't believe that this magazine has yet to have a website! I'm not at all computer savvy, maybe they do have a site, but, I can't find it :-/

nope. after 40 years as the islands foremost authority on fishing they have no website.
seeing as how my wife lost my renewal form, my subscription stopped in early march.
i will try to pick it up and scan the cover if i can figure out how.
