I had a new set of tires installed on the truck today. Before I dropped it off I took a few pics. If you look closely in the first pick my V is in the background.

Nice one.. Fresh meats in the back, off to make the switch...Have you priced a set of Michelins lately? 265 75/16 x4 is just south of $1000 bucks after tax. I am running a pair til I see the chord. Why is it always the rear ones that wear out first??

My old tires were Goodyear silent armor 305-70-16(33"x12.5"). They were getting pretty thin. I was due for inspection last month. I ended up getting a set of Nitto terra grapplers on Ebay. They are new and cost $730 with free shipping. The local shop charged $100 to mount and balance then they also inspected it. I'm good to go. No more burn outs for a while. You guys should see the parking lot at my marina....It looks like a bleach box at a drag strip

rr, see above pictures

i ve got a pair of michelin ltx on my work truck, 0ver 100,000 miles.paid $700 for 4 in 03.

Good deal, I bought Blemished Michelins LTX in 2003 for the wife's Tahoe. It was around $750 mounted & balanced. No such deal today.

I saw Pete's pics but none on your post, besides your avitar.

I can hear a Jeff Foxworthy joke right now....If you smoke your old tires right before buying your new ones and take pictures for your buddies to see.....

And you southern boys thought you had the market on rednecks cornered:fam: (the second pic is the coolest)

rr, i was refering to capt p pics.

the rear goes first because they are the ones that smoke the most
bad joke, but it was 1:30 in they morning....

i just put a set of Goodyear XRT's 265/75/16 on my white tahoe they were $379 mounted and balanced out the door. he wanted $689 after the $70 rebate mounted and balanced out the door for the same size in a set of Michelin LTX just like ferms, 265/75/16

Thanks RW. Ferm, nice video. With the kind of power that Duramax puts out I figure you would be able to really roast those tires. I sat and held my truck in one spot for at least ten seconds before I let her go. It left a pile of shredded rubber on the pavement. I wish I had timed this tire change better. I would of signed up for a burn out contest at one of those import car shows or something. They have one every year when I go to waterfest. Its pretty funny.

Phat I am blonde, therefore it is sometimes necessary to spell it out 100%. I thought... and that was my first mistake.:oh:

I would like to know where Ferm got the deal on the Michelins. That is the exact tire I need for my D-max PU. Was this a brother-in-law deal or is my local dealer just killing me with his mark-up?

I just tires on my 98 F-150 for the 1st time, It had 162,000 on those tires (same ones that came on it when I bought it brand new) The spare is still under the truck never hit the ground.

You fellows in warmer climes can get away with well worn tires for a long time.
Up here and the places I go hunting you need good tread life obviously but you risk a lot if you keep a well worn tire on.

willy, i had a bud from colorado and he said the same thing about the condition of repair or disrepair of the vehicles in the south. down here, if it breaks down you wait or walk for help, up there they find you in the spring thaw..

if you can find a set of APR tires they are great tires and last too. last set i got 80,000 miles out of them on my diesel tahoe. i'm on my second set on the diesel they are 285/75/16 APR Ridge Runner and cost $468 mounted and balanced.

I have a set of Toyo 285/16 on my pickup, they have 63,000 right nowe and i will get another 20 qt leaqst, i will need tires next winter.

$900 w/ bal, and alinement

Regular walk-in price from GRIMES TIRE in Dade City. You have to give him a day or two's notice to get em in, but he's about as cheap as any on em.
