JUST GOT IN.

well, we just got home from a cruise to the carribean (a few hours ago). i dont know how many of you have been but i always thought it would not be my thing. thought i would feel like i was trapped on a floating prison. my inlaws paid for the whole thing so who am i to say no.
we stopped in bermuda, nassau and a private island in the bahamas. the water was incredible and the snorkeling was more incredible. i always bring a light spinner with me but i didnt even even unpack it this time.
when we were in the islands it was fantastic. when we werent it was like being trapped on a floating prison.

we did see some dolphin and a whale. im not religious but watching the dolphin jump was like seeing god to me. no words to describe their beauty. WOW!

glad to be home and i hope i didnt miss much.

Yeah - I went on my first cruise just a few years ago. It really wasnt my thing. Hot and humid when you left the boat - sun burns from hanging around the beach, and mandatory getting dressed up to go to dinner each night after a long day of sun and drinks !!! I didnt care for that at ALL. But the ladies like it for some reason. The snorkeling was pretty cool though.

did the Carnival cruise a few years back, on the "Destiny"....as of 2001, the second largest pass. ship in the world. Didn't think I was going to enjoy it as much as I [we] did. One word...fabulous....and amazing....the food, the shows, the recreation, the clubs, always something to do. Our ports were of course very nice as well, the Caymans,Cozumel, and Jamacia. Couldn't really party to much, the wife was a couple of months pregnent at the time, but all in all it was GREAT and I'd go on another cruise in a heartbeat. There were two "formal" dinner evenings, so yes , you had to go jacket and tie :-/

welcome back... imagine going to sea on a ship for 7 1/2 months with a total of 11 days off the ship lol i felt like i was born and raised on that ship and my real life was but a dream lol

couple problems here ...

1 i dont drink.

2 had to spend a week with inlaws.

3 not only father inlaw but brother inlaw.

4 have a 4 & 8 year old ... wife drank, i watched.

(not that i dont love hangin with my boys)

5 phester, "fabulous" & "amazing" are not "one word".

6 this was my first & last cruise.

y'know, its nice to get away but its nicer to get back home.

Years ago I crewed for Windjammer. They're nuttin' like those floating cities. Glad ya made it back...never know with in-laws on board. ::)

My wife was asking about going on a cruise. I sent her with her mother-in-law, father-in-law, and sister-in-law earlier this year on a NCL ship and I stayed home with the kids. They enjoyed the cruise and I enjoyed staying home.
