not being able to get in the water for a while has left me too much time to think about fishing. so i came up with this little questionare. what fish have you always wanted to catch but havent had the oppurtunity or the luck to land in the boat. who knows, with members all over the country, this might turn into an oppurtunity for some one to hook up some lucky fella (ME ME ME! jk) with a dream fullfilling fishing trip.

tough choice for me but, i would have to say that a bull tarpon is at the top of my list. i caught one small one in port sulphur once. but he was very small. while working for the corps i traveled all over florida and still couldnt come up with one. i even fished a charter boat on the space coast in august 1 time with no luck! i did catch a sailfish so it was still a cool trip.

second would be a tie between a blue marlin and a striped bass except me and the wife already have a trip to panama planned for this winter. so i will get my marlin then. so that leaves a big striper on the list.

so lets hear it guys. if you could hook any fish in the ocean, what would it be?

Here in Mass I ahve caught many of all!

Bass, Blues, Cod, Fluke, Scup, Sea Bass, Blue Sharks, Maco, puffer fish, Monk fish, ect.. ect,,

One fish fior some reason I have never caught is Hadock, And there are pleanty here right now!! Maybe this fall ??

But the fish I guess I would like to go after is a Big Blue Fin Tuna! I think I be pretty happy with that! ;)

I Would like to hook into a giant tuna.

I have caught yellowfins up to about 125# but I would like to hook into something that has as much power as a VW Bug!

Yup, I would have to follow the masses and go with Giant blue fin, on stand up gear. ;D ;D Just thinking about the drag screaming off the real makes me..... OK I need some alone time ;D

Hmmm... almost too many fish to choose from. Wahoo and a big yellowfin are probably at the top of the list.

i've had yellowfin and bigeye up to 235 pounds.
i'll not be able to die peacefully until i hook and whip a bluefin of 750 pounds or better.
nothing pulls like a tuna and a giant is the ultimate gamefish.

Pound for pound, a good size blue fish is just as fun to fight as anything else. I'd be happy these days with a nice striper, 30 - 40 lbs or bigger dragging line with her as back the boat down. Just a dream, but if I could, I'd take the 70 mile journey and land me a nice tuna in the stream here off of Georgia.
