Hey spare

Awhile back you had said you had a couple of the v8 vortec marine intakes that were complete. Do you still happen to have any of those left or know where one can be found reasonably priced(preferably the early style with a 3 bolt throttle body)? I may be in the market for one this summer for a project I want to build.

I should know by the end of next week, but would you be interested in parting with one? I would need the lower, upper, and fuel rails. No need for the the throttle body or sensors as the marine stuff isn't really compatible with the auto.

That would be ideal for what I'm wanting to do. I've been wanting to build a 383 for awhile now for a mud toy, and I got a line on what I'm hoping is a 4 bolt main 1 piece rear main seal block. The DURAMAX is to expensive to play with anymore, so figure I can build a gas powered toy. Nothing extravegant, just a 375-400hp and 450-500 ft lb torque engine, but something with good grunt down low, and a broad flat torque curve to put in front of a 4l80e I have.

Let me know, the family(less me) is going to Orlando for spring break, I can have them haul it that far, thats a heavy intake, shipping would be $$

Gotta see if I still have your number. In any case, I'm interested in it. Even if this engine doesn't pan out. That cast iron lower is pretty hefty, but they say they run pretty good. I considered the stealth ram, but they want $475 for just the lower, and Holley doesn't want to sell the upper by itself, then the throttle body, fuel rails, and such just seems like a hassle. I found somebody with some like new take offs(were only used in freshwater by indmar as test mules) for $700 shipped, but they're the 4 bolt throttle body style. Some have ran them as you can get a 90MM throttle body for them cheap, but then you have to make a custom throttle shaft to hook up the cables. I've been wanting to try building a 383 vortec for awhile, pretty well decided I want to do it now.
