once again, looks better on the cooler

G, thanks for the good karma

Phat, that's a nice Sea Bass, all white meat, enjoy. Nicely done.:nice:
Where you found that one there will be more, if you have the numbers or remember where you caught it, get some clams and drift over that area.

Again WELL DONE:clap:

I think if I had clams, i d rather eat them over the sea bass. Reminds me of using shrimp to catch speckled trout, fried shrimp are better that fried trout

Our bay is in sad shape, losing the shallow grass beds because rental pontoon boats are plowing them up. The grass is the nursery, almost every species grows up in the bay. We used to have sea urchins by the thousands in the shallow sand flats. No more. Same for blue crabs, horseshoe crabs, scallops, flounder, etc.

Old man rant over, just gonna enjoy by grilled sea bass over rice with garlic cream sauce

Phat, we don't use the edible shrimp or clams, we used the grass shrimp for Stripers and Weakfish (maybe your Speckled Trout) and like you said, certain baits we can't find any longer. Those huge sea clams, I don't know where they get them but they are all covered in black mud and I don't think are edible. We were able to buy the clams in the shell, now the are shucked by the bait and tackle shops, put in a bag and salted, so they charge twice as much.

See if these Weaks are like your Speckled Trout or Sea Trout?

Now that Sea Bass sounds delicious, ENJOY!!!!
G

According to google, they are very similar, same family or genus, but different species. Kinda like first cousins

I agree with you on freezing, they don t hold up well
