Well I did it, I had the sergery on the 9th and came home on the 11th. The surgery went real smooth due to the fact of how good I did dropping 40lbs before hand. I just wanted to let you guys know I am fine and healing fast, Thank You for all your prayers.

I also fixed my fuel restriction problem right before the surgery I got to take the boat out for a quick test run. I replaced the Main fuel line and removed the screen someone had stuck up inside the pickiup line going inside the gas tank, It was a crappy job and not factory. So now fuel goes from the tank to the new fuel water seperator, and then to a small fuel filter to the fuel pump. New hoses and filters and she runs great WOOT!!!!

WRONG SECTION!!!!!!! You have been around long enough to know better! You should have posted in repairs! :haha:

Very good to hear that the surgey went well and you are feeling good. Also congrats on dropping forty before the surgery. How long before you can get back on the water?

Hi jdog hope you have a speedy recovery at times it seems slow wish you all the luck in the world nothing worse than being sick--God bless you and your family

Congrats on both your surgery's! Your on your way now!! I lost 30# before my bi pass, and to date a total of 170!1 I had some issues because of a lot of side illness, but most are all healed up now. It has been 17 months since I had mine.
Most is fixed now except the kidneys which has nothing to do with the surgery .
Wait till you get rid of all your meds!! If you haven't yet? It great not having to drop a handful at a time, or have to watch the clock saying crap I forgot this or that!

Hope the rest of your journey goes well!! Wait till next fishing season you going to have so much engery to fish you wish you did it sooner!!:nice::news::happy:

Hey J
I had the same surgery in 2000, I went from 356 to 164 in less than a year.
That was too low of weight for me so the DR told me to put on 20lbs, harder than you think to do. I had to increase my meals to 6-8 a day.
We found out my good weight was 185 to 190 so that's what I've been since 2002.
I had a great recovery no problems.

Hope you do well if you have any questions fire away MJ or I can tell you first hand.

Congrats Jdog. Good to see you had the courage and the good sense to fix your problem. looking forward to seeing some pics of your fishing trips next year.

Congrats on taking the step...from now on each day as you return to the dock you can SMILE at all the fuel you saved by dropping the pounds...:news:

Thx for all the replys. I haven't had to take any insulin since the surgery and already dropped one of my blood presure pills WOOT!
I must be healing fast cause I have no more pain in the stomache area, but my girlfriend helped me get out of my chase lounge and pulled me to hard and I pulled a back muscle which led to me pulling my lower back muscles also. and then got gout in both my damn feet, I guess from eating cream of chicken soup strained. so for the past few days I have been stuck here hurting like a MoFo. I wake up today with a crick in my neck on top of the other ****.
I am very happy I have had this done and hope to be back on the water in 2 months they said no pushing or pulling anything over 10lbs for 8 weeks so I am sticking with what the doctor says.

The only question I have is, when can I start on pureed foods?
it says 10 days to 3 weeks to be on full liquids but they seem to go right through me.
I tried some soft scrambled eggs few days ago just to see and all was well, but I don't want to mess this up so I went stright back to creamed soups, water, crystal light, and my protein shake.
ohh and have any of you that had the surgery noticed gas pains???
I belive I was drinking the shake to fast and it was going to my intestines to fast, so now I just sip on it and no more gas pains.

I was diabetic for 21 years, I have not taken any meds except the Vitamins you have to since the surgery!! No more after 3 days and it has been 17 months! My A1C used to be high sometimes 13, nw I am 5.9 6.1 stuff like that my doc is like WOW!!

I never had any pain at all!! But take it easy you don't want to pull any of them staples out! I lived in my recliner the whole time

Do as the Doc says!! I knew a guy that had the surgery and died cause he did not listen and eat, blew the staples and bleed out!
10 days you will start with the eggs and stuff. as far as drinking, I had a hard time also, could not get enough in, had to have IV Fluid every 3 days to stay hydrated for about 2 months. Just go slow and and always have a drink in you hand!!

ohh and have any of you that had the surgery noticed gas pains???

Everyone I have talked to including myself has awful gas after this!! Sometimes you stink bad!!! And can't hold it in, it can be embarrassing!

wait till you have a bot of DUMPING!! and you will everyone does!! Then the Constipation! O my GOD, keep them stool softeners going in when that starts!!

You will be fine after you learn what to avoid and how things affect you, your on your way!!

I had my first case of constapation few days ago, but I think it was from the pain meds for my back and feet, it was horrible, I have some soft gels docalax on hand, cause I do NOT want to go throught that again, as far as the fluid intake goes, I am able to drink all I want, and when I eat I seem to get full after about 5oz so I guess my pouch is bigger than other ppl and I heard that some ppl cant even take 2oz so I feel for you bro. I havent had the dumping syndrome yet, but I sure dont want to. I will be extra carefull.
Thank's for the answers.
GOD Bless
