fuel lines

As a follow-up to the flow-meter thread, how often should fuel lines be replaced? I am assuming mine never were changed and my boat is 10 years old. When I pump the ball my hand gets all black, is this something I should do now, or do you think it could last through the season. I have no reason to think they have any issues at this point. I guess I am just wondering how often they should be replaced....

Sounds like it's time to change it. Your hand is getting black because the hose and primer bulb are getting dry rot from sun exposure.

time to replace it.

Rule of thumb for fuel hose, is "any" cracks or splits, signs of hardness (not plyable anymore) or like you mention, deterioration... time to replace.

And one note, dont re-use the hose clamps either, replace them as well (cheap insurance).
