Found Some Old Pictures

Prior to discovering the V20, I had a late 60s Thunderbird...a 17'er w/a 140 Evinrude...I LOVED this boat

Nick and I took this thing 35 miles offshore one day, caught some fish off a wreck and came back in...ran into some hi seas 5 miles off and really battled our way in...I remember a wave coming over the windshield, taking my hat off my head...but she got us in OK...
Good on gas (somehow) w/an '84 V6 140 Rude...I fitted a 25 gal plastic tank under the cuddy and never had the feeling of too much weight or any other negative and never ran close on fuel supply...looking back, I would think she'd be a real gas hog. The only reason I wanted another boat was space...striper fishing around here requires a large bait tank that just took up too much space in the 17'er's hull...

Enter the first V20...this was taken in early '99...I hadn't had the '74 for long, but had cut the bow rail and mounted the elec trolling motor for pulling live bait...

The first Reelapeelin...ran the '86 Gas Suckin' Rude til she puked in '04 and then stuck the Honda 150 on her...LOTS of family and friends good times, fishin', skiiing, fresh and saltwater...towed to FL, NC coast, TN, GA and all over SC...she REELY got around over the 11 years I had her...Great memories of both these boats...

You know what is so crazy, and I believe I already pointed it out......my first boat was a '68 17ft Thunderbird and my first V20 was a '73. Maybe we had the same mama but didn't know it?

Cool boats ya'll.. I like the old Thunderbirds too. Phatdaddy I believe Porter Rick's was the 22' Thunderbird Iroquois model. I grew up watching re-runs of that show. Man.... those kids Bud and Sandy had it made! I would have loved to have grown up in the keys in that era.

That's true Bradford! We also both have two precious daughters and a love for pulled pork. I'm going in for a DNA test tomorrow morning to get to the bottom of this. :you:

My first boat was a 17' 1964 Hawkline, had lots of fun in that boat!! Had a 1972 Johnson on it and the shifting was the electric style, the problem with them was when they crapped out you be stuck in forward gear!!
One day with the family on board we were coming in and getting close to the dock area, i slowed her down but she was still going kind of fast?? so i put in neutral, still going and were close to the dock now, so i slammed it into reverse, and I might as well floored the gas and slammed the dock, came right out the water!! Yelled at my wife to get out fast and grab the kids, thought I was going to sink for sure, but nope just a stretch was all!! Scared at **** out of me for sure!!
I sewed them windows on myself with a old machine I had, they were not pretty but when we were cod fishing in November with ice or the rods it was warm under that top!
Repowered with a used 1990 Merc 90 hp, sold when I bought the 75 V20 cause I wanted a bigger boat!
Here she is when I was selling it in 1996
