I cleaned the piss outta this thing and tried some 3m oxidation remover and nothin TOUCHED it til I got some WD 40 on it by accident...then I tried a spot on purpose...then half the floor...

Sprayed it on fairly heavy....let it sit for a while, then scrub w/stiff bristle brush, then towel up...

It's been on there for a couple of days now and holding it's color pretty good...it was on a ACCIDENT!!...

I've tried it on some other areas as well...looks like more WD to come!!...

I love how he just took it out for a test but the rods are already in place

Ha, ha!!...gotta be ready just in case!!...

Skunk, the scrub brush really moves the dirt out!!...really CLEANED it...you can see all the dirt particles in the excess oil...then w/an old towel, wipe it up good and no slick, oily feeling at all...it deoxidizes the surface and cleans it real well...dry to the touch now...

That's pretty cool Reel. Ya'll know what WD-40 stands for? Water Displacement - 40th attempt. The guy who developed it failed 39 times before he got it right. Seems the key to success is multiple failures....so one of these days I should be very successful!! :sun:

BR ... a guy named JC Penney opened 11 stores before one became successful and grew into the chain we know today...when I was developing my lock, I had many failures before it worked...trial & error...AKA Research & Development takes many forms

What a shame it would have been if his budget had run out on his 38th attempt at WD 40...

All I know is, his 40th cleaned and rejuvenated the old floor deck in this boat...worked like a champ!!...

Oz thats why I love the woody wax its fiberglasses best friend .... that older fbglass is like a sponge ...

My father would wd 40 the paint on his 89 chevy pickup every now and then ... for two reasons it made the truck shiny and helped fight off the salt air living on long beach island.
