My rod boxes are cracked/broken ('85 V20, cuddy). Anyone know where there's something on this site about that (I searched some), or ideas about fixing/replacing them? It would be nice if they held a few more rods too. Thanks
Page 5 of the gallery, Wiseguy restored his rod boxes and they look great. Also Flounder Pounder Marine has rod boxes on Ebay right now. I'm not sure they will fit better measure
I BOUGHT A PAIR OF ROD BOXES FROM FLOUNDER POUNDER LAST YEAR,EASY TO INSTALL AN LOOK LIKE NEW,,,,,,,,,,,,, IF ANY BODY NEEDS ANY OF THE TEAK FOR THE ROD BOXES, IM ME
jaysea, you got pictures of those boxes installed in the boat?
BTW - wiseguy you did a nice job with your restoraton - what kind of paint did you use and is it still sticking to the boat? Mine looks pretty good, so I probably will just do gelcoat repairs, but I'm curious.
I put in rod boxes from FP marine 2 years ago. They are great. I think I had to do some very minor trimming but can't really remember now. They hold 3 rods per side. I can get the measurement tonight if neeeded.
Do they have a finished flange, so they eliminate the wood trim?
It looks like FP has a varying supply - I ran out a list to see if they have something that will fit. Am I right that they sell surplus and don't have a consistant stock of sizes?
O V20,NO PICS ,ALL COVERED UP,NO MORE WOOD FLANGE,MINE CAME FINISHED WITH HOLES,ABOUT $90 EACH,20 MIN TO EACH SIDE TO INSTALL,HAD TO TRIM ABOUT AN INCH OFF THE TOP TO FIT,LOOKS BETTER THAN NEW,
No pics still, sorry. They have a nice flange and the teak is gone. I want to say that the measurement they provide on the website may be for the cutout and the flange wan't in the measurement but I can't remember. I had to do very little trimming but do remember it as a very easy project.
