Fishing reel bearings

I have an older SHIMANO reel that I can't find bearings for, and came across this company. They have bearings of all sizes and sell them in several different grades from regular stainless to top of the line rubber sealed ceramic units. Just pay attention when you order as they sell bearings with several different kinds of lube or no lube in them at all. I just ordered a set of ceramic with stainless shields for my old SHIMANO for a little over $21 shipped. Don't think that's to bad considering the local reel shops said they couldn't find them. Now I need to go out and pull out some of my old reels and revive them from the dead now that I can get bearings. It's a heck of alot cheaper than a new reel at todays prices.

You will need a GOOD micrometer that measures in MM's since most of these tiny bearings are metric.

I just put a set of the rubber sealed ABEC #7's in my dads old QUANTUM reel, and it cast's like never before. I spooled it with 20# test, and I think it casts better than it did with 14# test. Now I wished I would have spent the extra $10 to have put them in my old SHIMANO. Sure is alot cheaper to rebuild my old reels than to buy new ones. Only problem has been the post office running at the speed and efficency of the gubment and taking WAY to long to deliver my bearings. BOCA ships them on time, but why should it take 4 days to go 150 miles?

Just got an email from BOCA, they're doing a 25% off sale for the 4th that ends July 7th. So if you need bearings, nows the time to order. Enter the code 25JULY2014 to get the 25% off. Sucks that I have already rebuilt both of my baitcasters. Maybe I ought to go out and redo my last good live bait reel.
