Fishing last weekend

Well I meant to post these earlier, but forgot. Took my son fishing last Sat. We trolled out in the Chesapeake for some Spanish Mack, but the damned red tide was so bad, there was no bait, no Spanish:sad:

We had a ball anyway, stopped at a beach on the way in, then swimming in the creek afterward.

Going to try again this afternoon!

Nice pics....

Did the same thing with the wife and kids last weekend in SC. Nothing all day then toward the end of the day the tideline developed 3/4 mile off the rocks. Big schools of pogies all over it and a steady pick of Spanish. Caught probably 25 or more but they were either 11" or 15". Nothing over or in between. Kept 7 of the 15". Grilled up nicely.

2 rods, both #1 planers. Could not locate my #2 planer on the boat?!?!?!?

Thanks guys he loves being out on the water. This is my 11 year old. He and I have been working on his V20, well progress slowed this summer with the heat. I now have a Merc 115 tower of power that we are going to use for power instead of his 70 Merc. Maybe splash it this fall, but probably next spring.

Blue- We LOVE Spanish fishing but this year the bite seems to be farther up the bay than usual, hope to get a couple more tries in before they head south. Threat of storms kept us in the York on Sunday just bottom fishing. Fried them up last night....YUUUUUUUUUUMMM!!!

Spanish is awesome fishing especially for the kids. Here is a pic of our best day catching BIG spanish with my nephew. The one on the bottom would've been a keeper king! I think it was 26" or so. We lost some bigger than that. You know you've got a big spanish when you are trying to decide - NET OR GAFF?!?!? Fun times!
