Finally, POMPANO!!!!!

My BIL was in town last week, so we launched the V and went to the island. Walked over and caught 2 small pomps. First blood,2026. But nothing to get excited about. Went a couple of times during this week, nada. Loaded the truck last night, went to the state park this morning. Had the place to myself. caught the top one bout 8:30, next two around 9. loaded up at 9:30 and headed home.

Proud of these, it's been a struggle so far.

Got company coming in town tonight

Beautiful fish, those could eat the one's I usually catch. I never thought of using grip tape on my surf rods.

Scook,Everybody enjoyed the meal. Cooked all 6 filets at once. Smaller ones were a little overcooked,but no leftovers

Blue, those penn rods have a synthetic cork handles that get slick after time, That tape works great. I was worried it would hold fish slime and smell, but been on there for 3- 4 years and no stink so far. Maybe because I’m not catching enough fish.
