Engine flush kit

God
Anyone know whether they make a engine flush kit to use a hose for the earlier 2 strokes like my 96 Evinrude, like they have for the 4 strokes?
Do they work well?

You've got one already. In 93 when OMC came out with the OCEAN PRO series, they were teh first ones with a built in flush port. The pisser in the back of teh engine threads out, and a garden hose threads into it.

That's what I thought but when looking at it I could not see how I was supposed to do it conveniently.
Thanks Tsubaki, I tried to find that but didn't see it after googleing it.
And understand the warning on not to run engine on it.

But one question, when I come in will it work to run it while sitting in the water and/or tilting the engine back? And any harm in running salt away in that way?

Hope I understand your questions.
It's designed to flush the engine without the need to run the engine.
It's two piece, made of plastic. One piece replaces your factory pisser, during flushing the other piece screws on the end of a hose and then plugs into the new pisser. Easy, quick, quiet flush.
Just be sure to align the new pisser to the direction you prefer, might have to use Teflon tape if it don't tighten to the direction you want.
If you want to run the engine when it's out the water, just use muffs.
Here is their site location of the flush kits.

I think I understand now.
You may want to flush the engine when the boat is in the water and tilted up?
No problem, just don't run the engine.

With a carbed engine you won't be able to run it with the engine tilted up as the fuel in the bowls will be running all over the place with it running. Also I don't reccomend flushing it using the flush port with the engine trimmed all the way up as it can let water run back into the powerhead through the exhaust in some instances.

All right with this set up when I come back from running, shut down the motor. Keep it trimmed down and even though the lower unit is in the water it will flush the engine? Right?

Yes, or use a pair of pliers and unthread teh pisser plug and thread your hose in that way. You can trim the engine up out of thewater, but I wouldn't trim it up all the way if it was mine.

Naw, she's happy since I helped her out and got the reduction surgery. I try to make things easier on her you know.:hi:
