Electrical/Batteries

Do most of y’all’s boats have the perko type battery switch installed? Was this factory? If you do have the switch, what type battery are you using? (Ie starter on #1, deep cycle/all purpose on #2?). I am thinking of using both slots as an all purpose with ample CCA, but if someone can advise me on this I would greatly appreciate it. Also, does anyone know what size batteries fit best in the original tray? I am running through most aspects of the boat and this is next on the list. Thanks for any help or clarification

Don't mix types of batteries, use a starting battery for your engine and for your house battery. The only place you need a deep cycle battery, is if you are planning on deep cycling it, meaning running the battery down to low power. If you have a trolling motor or battery bank with an invertor, a deep cycle is ideal. Everything else run a starting battery. I like deka(Duracell, west marine) batteries. They make dual purpose batteries, my opinion is dual purpose does neither job well

V21. Did you have to move your oil tank on the right side of the transom? (When in the boat looking back to motor)

When I had my oil tank by the battery’s they all fit BUT I will advise you. By pass the oil injection system and add the oil to the gas. Safer and better. But if you don’t listen closely to Spareparts he knows what he is talking about. A lot of people on this site know what they are talking about but spare is on top.
