Electric Reels!!!!!

I just spent the better part of the last 2 1/2 hrs rebuilding, re-wiring, greasing an Electra-Mate and Penn 113 4/0 which probably hasn't been serviced in the last 10 years for SOMEONE we all know here. :bat:
What the hell did you take that Electra-Mate apart with, a 2lb sledge hammer?
I'm a mechanic. Not a miracle worker. :cen:

LMFAO!!!!!!

Hey I bought all the new parts from the company for you before I sent it over, and how would I have known what I needed till I took it apart?

You have had the dam thing forever just get it done and shut up :nut:

If this wind ever stops I want to get a Cod trip in before I go on the slip, you want to go??

Does his boat have a compass yet and if so does he know how to use it. Last I heard he was all excited about the new radar he put in but was more excited about figuring out how to use it when the fog rolls in. He ruined a prop of mine once hitting the only lobster trap east of Chatham :)

Exceptional 1st post - welcome!

That's okay Mark. I ruined one of his for you. :nut:
God forbid he would learn how to use something before he really needs it.
Read the manual. The best time to learn new electronics is under a bright blue sky when you don't need it.

not much just waiting to see!

Just couldnt help but picture Wind Talker riding in circles with a pair of old rusty pliers next to the compass. :you:

Well I meet with Smart a$$ CB this morning to get the reel, and guess what, he could not give it to me like he said cause he decided to test it and it goes BACKWARDS!!!
Seems he hooked the wires on the wrong side, so now he has to take it apart again!!
:fight:

Well just hit forward to realease line and reverse to. Well if I have to explain that you might want him to fix the problem.

The motor only turns in one direction. There is a diode to prevent it from going in reverse. It was a 50/50 shot at getting it right. There are no markings on the motor. I knew I should have checked before buttoning everything up.

And excuse me Mr Smartazz! If you hadn't totally trashed the reel to begin with, we wouldn't even be talking about it.
This guy attempted to do his own repair, gave up and handed me a box full of parts. :fight:
