Let me repay what I've learned about the V-20 by sharing what I know about the 18. I have owned an 1989 18 Sport
for 3 plus years and use it for light fishing and just knocking around in TVA lakes and occassional trips to the Carolina coasts. The boat was a package boat, complete with factory 120 Force engine and galvanised trailer. It weighs 2200 lbs per factory literature and has 14degrees of deadrise at the transom. It has a small bow flair that does a good job of deflecting spray but the ride suffers from being only 17'8"
of hull. The boat is very stable and handles small chop well but large waves and boat wakes cause it to bouce around a bit. The boat does not track well in a following sea, wants to yaw and swing. This boat has had the Force replaced (wonder why?
:

) with a early "80's vintage Mercury inline 6 115 hp that will push the boat to 31 mph light load.
Compared to the V-20 I would guess the construction, fit and finish would be identical. The 18 is narrower and I enjoy the single axle, narrow, light weight trailering aspects.
I have the factory promo pictures and a sales flyer that I could loan if the board wants to have a "baby brother' type of gallery.
Incidentlly, I monitor the board since I too have a case of 2 foot-itis and would like to sell mine or trade up to a 90's v-20 CC.
Let me know if I can share any thing else.
