WAYYYYYYYY too much money. It's not even finished.. No windshield, no bimini, no fittings, no lights, no seat, no coolers, no beer.... OMG it's naked!!!!!
(ok, I exaggerate a little, but you get my meaning.. that's simply too much for my blood... pretty, but too much).
My best bud knows the boat. He is a boat dealer and has the owners Viking listed. He has seen the V different times during the re-do, he says its done right with good quality materials....the guy is VERY VERY anal with his stuff.
I agree it is overpriced, but if you were looking for a new hull like that, you wouldnt find it for that money and this one has power. I have another buddy that did a total re-do of a '74 V center console, cap off...all composite stringers, floor and transom. He worked with a fiberglass guy and still had $13000 in it, and what $15000 ina 200 E-Tech.....lets just say he isnt gonna sell anytime soon!!
Destroyer, I agree with you on the 'no beer' part!
But he has pop-up lights and cleats...I like the no windshield or bimini---clean look!
Can you tell I like it? The only thing I would change would have been the front casting deck....but thats bc I usually have a crew with me...need a place to sit!
Perhaps in a seller's market he'd have a better chance? Nonetheless, the value will be determined by the buyers this time around. Beautiful layout. There is something to be said about the clean, "nakedness" of it. Just looks really cool and sure to turn head and get lots of "what kind of boat is that" type comments. I'd love to have it (for cruising the lake & keep my V21 for the serious stuff).
