Cuddy " walls " - how thick ?

Inside cuddy of my V21, anyone know how thick and what's behind the carpeted upper side panels ?

Thinking of screwing in some shallow hooks to make rod holders, but don't want to be risking if it's just fiberglass that's only X thick.

The separate carpeted access panels left and right inside the cuddy are removable, and I could build in approx. 3" diameter holes to allow rod butts extra room.

Just toying with the idea so far.....
 
Why take the chance? Cut out the carpet from the place you want to put the holders, then epoxy some wood into that area. Sink your screws into the wood.:head:
