Loved those 340 engines, friend had one in a challenger I believe.
Congrats on that article, just bumped your value up 25%

my father has a 68 Dart GT convertable with a slant 6. They say that the only thing to survive a nuclear war will be cockroaches and slant 6's.

Nice looking Duster.
Have you owned it a long time Dave?

Can you still get those Polyglass tires?

With only 40k miles I take it's a survivor and not been restored?

I have redline bias-ply Mickey Thomas on my 65 GTO and I can't get use to the feel of a bias ply tire.

Hey Barry, I found this lil gem in Hemmings Nov 2008...I couldn't pass it up!

Yes you can still get the Polyglas..Goodyear is reproducing them...big market! But I can tell ya, they haven't improved the ride! HA! Not bad really, she tracks nice and smooth..its just the crowned roads that make you feel uneasy!

Its got 46,500 original miles with the factory applied original paint, interior, engine, trans, rear, well everything really, except the TTI exhaust system & battery but even its a correct replacement (gel). I even got two of the original polyglas tires with it....they were on the back! I'll see if I can post em.......

Pics of that hot GTO Barry?

Windy as heck and cold, very cold. We are in full blown deep freeze now.
Why don't you lend me that Duster and I will stretch its legs out to Sebastian Inlet Fla. for a couple of weeks

Willy, If anyone is taking this car SOUTH its gonna be me! Ha! At least the wind has subsided here.....The older I get the less I can put up with this cold thing! It doesn't go well with Muscle cars, boating & biking I can tell ya!

Damm Dave!! That is one sweet MOPAR!

The GTO is a been sitting in the barn for a few years. She has 102,000 miles and never been restored. She isn't perfect but it is still something else to drive. Could use a motor refeshing and a good body man to take out the dingys. No rust or major damage.
Here she is with my Forty Chevy (screen name ..inaforty)

Nice ride dmoore, My oldest brother had a 72 duster with a 340 4 barrel ...... very fast car I'll see if i can find a few vintage pics.

My first car was a 66 nova .... :love::love:

Dave,
The 68' Camaro was just a factory 327, 2 barrel,4 speed car. It did have the console gauge cluster. Was a very fun car. I believe that Camaro was shipped to Japan when it was purchased new (serviceman stationed in Japan ..so the story goes?). The Pro-tecto plate that was in the glove box had the address written from Japan. Had the local dealer run down the info and that is what he believe happen?

When the guy (in the Navy i believe) came back state side from Japan he was assigned/stationed to Newport RI. My BIL's cousin bought the car from him.

I sold the 40 chevy when my interest turn to boats. When my Dad passed I sold the 68' Camaro and a 65' fleet side half ton Chevy pick up and just kept the GTO. Too many toys not enough time or $$$.
Shortly I'll be trying to figure out how I'm going to find storage for the GTO as the farm next door will be sold sometime soon.
