Arjay for stringers

Its been done!! And i believe here from someone?? But I don't recall who or seeing any updates on results?
 
Jason I've seen on THT were a guy cuts the top of the stringer glass off. Then remove the wooden core of the stringer system then leaves the glass standing and uses it as a form and just pours the ARjay in the existing glass "forms".
 
Just looked at peiserma link. That's the same stuff. Very cool but pricey. Anything low maintenence for marine is gonna be expensive.
 
I looked at the link Peiserma provided and yes it seems simple. I am trying to find someone local who sells the Arjay so I can get an accurate cost of Arjay vs wood stringers vs time for both. I want to get this 18 Fisherman back on the water. I am thinking of just pouring the two mid stringers. I also noticed the new transom is delaminating from the hull. I am hanging a 200 Merc on it so i want it to be safe yet once I finish the V20 I am going to cut the gunnels down on the 18 and make her into a custom bay flats boat with casting decks front and rear and wide gunnels.
 
By the time you buy the wood the fiberglass and the epoxy...the Arjay may not really cost thats much..the one question i would have is my understanding is that when putting in new stringers,, the wood is not to touch the inner hull because it creates Hard Spots so if you use the Arjay and pour it in how are you going to keep it off the hull or does it really matter
 
My stringers were bedded the entire length with thickened poly. Meanining its bedded with even pressure thru the entirety of the length of the hull. You can't cut wood stringers perfect ,so if you cut the stringers a layed them in place on the surface of the hull one part of the stringer would touch the hull surface before another part of the stringer creating a head spot. In the case of a pourable system such as ARjay you are dealing with consistent even pressure thru the length of the hull.
