Another Day another problem

Well I made it to Tice's and back today but had some issues coming back. The first thing I noticed was that it took forever to get the primer bulb hard. In fact I almost gave up. Then as I was running it was bogging down especially under 3500 rpm's. I gave it more gas and it seemed to run well over 4000 rpms. When we got back to the dock I noticed it was smoking (greyish/white) when idling. I'm thinkning possible fuel pump issue but I'm open to other suggestions. what do you guys think?

I've been meaning to post up this pic of your beautiful boat...

Sounds like you need to go through your carburetors and clean them out.

For just off idle to mid range there are a few tiny drilled passages that admit fuel to the engine, they are located in the carb bore so that they are exposed to vacuum one by one as the butterfies open up.

I'm guessing that you have a few clogged but once you get into the main jets things smooth out. They all add to the total fuel flow though so you are probably running lean at higher RPM's. The nice thing about Yamaha's oil system is that it adds oil independent of fuel so you won't be down on oil but lean is only good up to a point in 2-strokes.

sounds like your fuel pump diaphragm may be leaking. A quick check is unbolt the fuel pump and squeeze the primer ball. If any gas leaks out of the small hole in the back,it's bad. If thats the case you should just change all 3.

Looks like I need to go through the entire fuel system $$$$ Oh well thats boating. Thanks for the help guys and thanks for posting the pic reel.
