America On The Take

willy

God
Well, the results are in. It's official.

America no longer has the national pride that comes with individual responsibility, rugged independence, and a strong Constitutionally based belief in liberty.

America is officially on the take

We now officially have a population that is more than half dependent on the hard working other half and a government that not only approves of it but has for decades fostered it so as to increase its own power.

And "We the People" through complacency and apathy have allowed it to happen.

What a national disgrace played out last night as the results came in and a devout socialist progressive was re-elected by the majority on the take.

We as a people, have allowed something that our fore fathers fought and died for to slither away down the path to European Socialism.
And all across the once fruited plains many in our once great cities celebrated in the streets.
They did not celebrate American Freedom, American Exceptional-ism or the character of our nation, millions celebrated more free sh!t.
More re-distribution of that earned by others.
More government control of our lives.
Less Freedom

It is a national disgrace.
I am ashamed of myself for not doing more as an American for years now to inform and being involved in a stronger way in keeping America strong.
And I am ashamed for the first time in my life in our nation.
Because they are now officially on the take.

Agree

Well said Lt. Willy! This certainly is no longer the America the founding fathers had envisioned.

What I can't figure out is...if the GOP is so deadset against all the horrors you describe, during the periods of time when they were in control...and there have been many...why didn't they fix it?...I already have some opinions on why they didn't...but I'd like to entertain yours as well...They talk about it all the time like a preacher talks about the Devil...but they don't ever DO anything about it...:fight:

Oz my friend, I made a statement about what I see our nation becoming, something that is so very sad to me.
And you do not acknowledge one thing I said but instead ask a question about some point in history concerning the GOP.
I understand, it is very hard to to admit what has happened to ourselves as a nation.
You can divert the conversation if you wish.
As for me, I am just going to do all I can to take care of my family and friends in the quickly coming decline. I figure we have 4-6 months before the artificially held down inflation starts really rearing its head.
About the same until the coming huge recession starts. Anyone who has held off their retirement for the past four years due to the devaluing dollar and their shrinking investments will have to be very wealthy to even consider it now.
And for the 137,000 people Lockheed for example held off telling they were going to be laid off till after the votes were counted and many others like them that will find themselves in desperate times I will say a prayer for them but my attitude from now on is the "ME" society who voted for this is on their own.
I will say a prayer for my kids, they are going to get out of college and will have a hard time finding jobs. Living a life that our generation has taken for granted.
They will have the government though, it will take care of everyone you know.

Reel, I'm sure that there are a host of reasons as to why they didn't fix it, but please understand that there is very little difference between the Democrat and republican parties. Now, understand, I'm not talking about the Tea Party, or the Conservative branch of the Republican party, I'm talking about the old school Republicans. I think they didn't fix it because they didn't want to upset their own apple carts. After all, who would re-elect someone that was promising them nothing for free,
no extra money, a tightened belt, hard fiscal times, etc etc. They were/are more interested in their own jobs than what's right for the Country. We have a name for these people. We call them RINO's. (Republicans In Name Only) I'm not saying this is the only reason, but I am saying I think it's one of the primary reasons.
And as to your statement about them being in control many times, well, really that's not so. Even Regan had to work with a Democratic
controlled Congress and Senate. Really, I cannot think of a single time since I've been keeping count (I became a Republican with Ike in the 1950's) of where a Republican President had both houses Republican also.

Republicans had the White House, Senate, and House of Representatives 2003-2007. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Party_divisions_of_United_States_Congresses

Never been so disappointed in my politically aware life. They didn't have a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, but could have made serious and lasting change for our nation. They decided to play footsie with the Democrats instead. Bush II and his "uniter and not a divider" bull****.

Interesting point, The republicans had an opportunity to make major changes, but rather than divide this country(which it now is), the administration(probably the most criticized one in history) reached across the isle to create a bipartisanship effort(which every one wants now) that ended up not getting anything done(which is whats going to happen in the next four years). Thus the Tea Party Movement began (which is now heavily criticized by those bipartisanship members) to get things done!

Any one see a pattern here? *****, *****, *****, compromise, try to make everyone happy, you can't please them all....nothing gets done... *****, *****, *****.....

and it all goes back to the Money-Go-Round they all ride around on up there...if somebody steps outside the lines and messes it up for the rest, they'll be on him like hungry dog on fresh meat..Destroyer, ya asked if I didn't mind you pointing out there's no difference in the two parties...man I'm the guy been sayin that for years...lol...bought is bought whether yer left or right...the allegiance goes to money, then all ya gotta do is just enough window dressing as one or the other to hold on to your office...it's a scam...on US!...And being a staunch, my party right or wrong party member is playing right into their hands...a registered party member is just one more head they DON'T have to worry about...they are NOT your friends...

I noticed during this campaign how much attention they paid to "Undecideds"...they don't have the cajones to call 'em INDEPENDENTS so they hang a name on 'em makes 'em sound adeled like they can't make up their minds...ha ha ha...what they don't say is THAT'S the group that keeps them up at night wondering WTF we're (as in ME) gonna do...we're a complete unknown to them and unknowns scare the sh1t outta politicians...we're the wild card...and I LOVE bein' the wild card...
