So I've been grinding away at my stringers and the glass that held them in place and have noticed a common theme. There is a massive air pocket along the entire length of each of my strakes. I've been grinding this all out but the question I ask you to answer is this: When I go back and put a layer of 1708 that runs parallel over the strakes, the entire length of the boat, do I tuck it into the bend in the strake or do I lay it back like it was. It looks like a haphazard factory job but then again it looks like it was meant to be a saggy triangle that would add strength but not create a hard ridge.
My thought was to round it out with a PB filet and glass over them for the best of both worlds but that will not leave any room for flex along the strakes. Is this ok?
