A couple of classics

Cool, cool fo sho...love that cuddy..would like to see more...:hide:

No promises, but I'll see if I can find any pics and post them. My last bigger boat was a 25 Allmand. Great, strong boat, but the beam of them was skinny.. like a torpedo going thru the water, but would rock very easily when walking from port to starboard. Had three seats outside of the cuddy. 1 for the capt, and a split seat on the port side for others. By split I mean that there was one seat with the back up against the outside bulkhead of the cuddy, and then a space and then another seat facing forward. So you had 2 seats facing each other with a space in between. There was a removable table that fit in that space so you could sit and eat, play cards, whatever. Kinda nice arraingement. In the middle of the cuddy floor was a marine head, plumbed to outside the boat... no holding tank. An upolstered plywood cover went on top and of course the obligatory cushions on the sides over storage spaces. But you could honestly lay down in the cuddy...full lenght. All in all it was a very good boat, high dry ride, but like I said before, prone to excessive rock and rolling. Mine was a 1973 named Valkyrie. Sold it years ago.

I love the Allmand 23' Ticonderoga, I believe they make [or made] it in a fly bridge/dual station model and a hardtop model. At my local ramp I met a guy a few years back w/ the flybridge, as I approached him from a couple hundred yards away I was instantly drawn to the classic lines of the boat. Turns out he just restored the whole rig and man, it was nice. Think it was a 1975 hull. VERY deep gunnels [I think the floor ends up being below the waterline ? not sure] giant cockpit, lotsa storage, he had some v8 Mercruiser in there, looks like it was made when boat builders used the old green fiberglass. The sides of the hull felt like the glass was 3/4" thick. Really neat flybridge/helm. That make/model is defenitly on my top five list of trailerable boats. If I could find one that wasn't a project boat I would probably sell the V for it. I search them from time to time and there are not many out there.
