I had a great time with everyone. I ended up going solo. My wife didn't want to be in the boat after our trip across the Delaware bay the day before. But that is another story. Rob showed up first. Then I showed up shortly after. My brother stopped by for a little while. Then Tommy(step up here) showed up. Lumber made a visit in an inflatable with his brother. Later on George(barnegat v20) stopped by. And finally lumber got his boat over our way. It was really great to hang out and talk v20 with everybody. As usual I had the grill going making burgers, dogs, and even some tuna, thanks Rob,good stuff. So were the boiled peanuts. The weather actually turned out to be great.

There were several hundred boats around so of course the scenery was great also.

Told you that August would be a better time for me. We took possession of our new home (got the keys and took the final walkthru) on July 18. Been working on painting, refinishing floors, installing security lighting, and some electrical wiring since then. I thought I might be able to get things organized enough to make it, but it wasn't to be. You know Pete, I can't help but keep laughing at this whole thing. As I recall, about 2 1/2 - 3 years ago (you can find the post if you care to) I was a noob to this board. In response to a meet that some of the southern guys were talkiing about I made the suggestion that we (the northern guys) should all get together for a meeting. Anyways, one thing led to another and we had the first meet, that I missed, Then we had last years and I made it as far as the water, only to get shot down with a bad pump..and this year ....well, a new house and moving is a little bit more important. You should know, you did it not long ago as I recall. It's not an easy task, and I'll be damned if I was going to let my wife do the work alone, so I made the decision to forgo the meet this year. As important to me as the meet was, and actually meeting all of you guys, my home and my wife are just that much more important. We'll meet eventually... count on it...
As to the house, we've got the living room and two of the bedrooms done, as well as all of the downstairs. Just about the only thing left is the kitchen (I promised my wife a new one) and we'll be ready for the furniture and actually moving in (Wheeeeeee)

I am all for a raft-up. Anytime, anywhere logistics allow.

I watched a couple dock up at the marina behind the Pilot House resturaunt in Key Largo in a 30' Whaler with twin Verados. He was from Jersey. He knew all about Tices. He piloted the boat down from Jersey which I thougt was cool. Then I ran into the same couple the next day at Doc's Place, small world. I never got his name but his boat said he was from Brielle, NJ.

ridge , Brielle is just north of tices capt Pete would be more familiar with that area.

The electrical contractor I work for is based in Brielle, nice affluent area. About 20 minutes north of me by water, an hour north of tices cruising easy.

Hey George...sorry I missed ya on the shoal this year...

Brielle MUST be affluent...the guy just rode a 30' Whaler down Vic's way...$$$

I work in Point Pleasant Beach which is right across the river from Brielle. It's too bad you didn't get their name I probably have worked on that boat.
