180 HP Electric!!

Very cool looking, I gotta admit... and if someone handed me one I'd probably take it without a second thought...but no gas???? Ummm... maybe someone should tell that guy that electricity doesn't grow on trees, it's (mostly) produced by burning coal and oil. And I really wish they would give some specs on running time before they ran out of juice.

Wow - looks great, never mind all my fuss about etec HO, I want one of those !

How many hours of running per charge ?

It could be the future of outboard technology - sounds good for the environment.

Here are some of the answers...some good, some not so good...if you have access to 440 volt power, charging takes 20 mins w/a 2 hour run time...battery technology is coming along at a pretty rapid pace these days, so that should get better soon...

my customers complain about buying a 1000 MCA battery to start their engines, I can't imagine trying to explain to them they need to replace the batteries in one of those boats. I can hear it now, "Walmart has a deep cycle that will work as good as those batteries, won't it?" "Can't we just get one more season out of those 10 year old batteries?" and of course, "Whats all that green stuff on everything in the boat?". One things is for sure, if it ever sinks, there won't be any repairing it, just haul it to the scrap yard to get your money for the batteries and copper.
