05.11.2019 - Fluke Fishing with the Motley Crew

Today we got a late start due to the tide, the weather cooperated, I wish we could've said the same for the Fluke. One short with one Rocker and just a few bites, we didn't even see one Bunker. I guess all this rain has put way too much fresh water into the bay, maybe when all this rain goes away things will pick up. Out of all the other boats out there we only saw two other Fluke caught and they both were shorts. All in all it was a fun day with GOOD FRIENDS.

Is fluke season open in Ny? It's still closed in nj You would think the two states that fish the same waters could get there act together, friggin idiots run these states

Step, They did a couple of years ago, but NJ changed theirs, they lowered the size limit to18", we are still at 19" for now. Our 2019 regs haven't been posted yet and won't until sometime in June, so we still go by 2018. NJ is allowed to keep three and we are allowed four. They start on 5/24, end on 9/21, we start on 5/4 and end 9/30.

The really STUPID thing is, if I launch from the Jersey side of the Arthur Kill and take a Fluke I'm breaking the law, BUT, if I launch from the Staten Island side, (right across the river) and take the same exact Fluke I'm 100% legal. Gotta love the DUMB politicians. :head:
