A lot of the new boats are coming with a flush mount fuel vent. It's 316 stainless and 90 degree. I'm not the best at posting pics but the Sea-Choice part number is #50-23061 and should sell for @ $25. It's probably a Perko.

I had a VRO pump that was over oiling that gave me similar symptoms. You may want to have the shop complete an oil pump output test. Since mine was over oiling I disconnected it and premix my gas instead of buying a new one that cost @$400.

Another Pro of an outboard is that you can run in more shallow water than an I/O. However in my opinion the v20 isn't exactly designed for shallow water with the deep keel in the front.

I noticed in your pics that you are using regular anti-sieze. I've always been told to use the marine version because it doesn't have copper in it. The regular type on stainless bolts going into aluminum heads and blocks cause electrolosis. Thought you could use this info in the future.
