The stater spins but not enough to engage the pinion to the flywheel and turn the motor. I have checked the 3 old months battery and even had it tested at Advance Auto Parts (shows good 12.8 vdc and with 824 CCA), the cable connections and the battery switch, also OK. Using jumper cables...

Had some days off and decided to paint the cowlings and put on some new decals (aftermarket $69) on the old outboard. Painting with spray cans was not easy and never really mastered getting rid of the orange peel left behind. One last clear coat and ready for summer. Before During After

My '88 Merc. 200hp s/n OB250710 has a voltage regulator (88825A 7) as well as a rectifier. Two wire, red and yellow go from the regulator to the rectifier. Rectifier tested OK, but I don't know how to test the regulator. Thanks!

I'm looking for a replacement exhaust plate for my '88 merc 200hp. It's stamped "95066". Mine is cracked and my welding efforts have not stopped the leaking.

1989 Mercury Black Max 200 HP I would take the boat out and I could get on plane with no problems, but after a while, the motor would bog out, and loose power, it would run about 9 mph and turn 2500 rpm. There will be times that after 5-10 minutes later, the motor will kick in and start running...
