Stern hatches installed in my V21

Fellow V fans, here is a picture of my new stern hatches. They are teak with varnish. They are actually the same color but one is in the sun. I try to make at least upgrade a season. Boat should be in for the weekend. Hope the stripes are still biting!

    Nice cheap V20 in NJ

If I had a place to put this I'd check this out this weekend. He's asking $700 and sounds flexible. Someday I'll buy one to fix up for fun, I just need to find a place to store. Wife won't appreciate two boats in the driveway. http://jerseyshore.craigslist.org/boa/4459523628.html

    New dash and gauges

Given what I've heard about the state of the water in NJ I'm getting to some projects on my wish list this spring. I'm aiming to get the boat in the water early June. First up was replacing the old rod boxes. I'll post pics later on that project. Last weekend I pulled the dash and am replacing...

    Fuel pump issues

Anyone know why a new fuel pump would go bad? I just had it replaced a month ago. Could I have some bad gas that ruins the fuel pump after 15 gallons of use? I had a new filter (replaced the entire filter assembly) installed when I replaced the pump last month.

    Raritan Bay, NJ

I took my V21 out today for the maiden voyage of the season. My wife and two kids. I was in the Raritan Bay in NJ in New Jersey - between Keyport, NJ and Staten Island, NY. All the way up to Sandy Hook. The blue fish are everywhere! You can't go 2 minutes without seeing one jumping out of the...

Some Pics of my dash set-up

Sorry for the delay in getting these posted. Here are some pictures of my dash set-up. The box is made of an acrylic/plexiglass material. Keeps the electronics dry. I have to be honest, I don't use them. The fishfinder doesn't work on catching crabs and I never had to use the Loran in the...

Pulled the trigger on the etec (w/Pics)

Hey guys, haven't posted in a while but visit at least once a week. After about a year of doing research (and convincing the wife), I pulled the trigger and purchased a 2007 175 etec. Here is a picture of the old 1995 200 Evinrude: And here is the new beauty: I took her for a test ride on...

    Repowering

I a looking to repower to a 4 strike Yamaha - probably 150 due to the difference in weight (I currently have a 200 Evinrude '95). Anyone have any good ideas when the best time to do this is? Its better to by an air conditioner in the winter, does the same apply for an outboard So far, I get...

    fuel lines

As a follow-up to the flow-meter thread, how often should fuel lines be replaced? I am assuming mine never were changed and my boat is 10 years old. When I pump the ball my hand gets all black, is this something I should do now, or do you think it could last through the season. I have no reason...

    Mystery leak

The last few times I have taken my boat out in the ocean I have found that the inside of my cuddy cabin on the port side corner is wet. I have the hatch closed and I am pretty certain water isn't getting in through the hatch or the track. Even if it was, it wouldn't be wet on just one side. I...

    Pontoon boat

I stopped by the Wooden Boat festival at Huddy Park in Toms River New Jersey this past weekend and snapped a picture of this huge pontoon boat. Imagine the size of the yacht this guy uses this as a dingy for.... I actually saw it flying in the bay but it was too fast for me to grab a picture.

    V-20s everywhere

I FINALLY got the boat in on Saturday and spent all day yesterday with the wife on the Manasquan river, Barnegat Bay and Toms River (Central New Jersey). Boat handles like a dream in the rough chop of the bay. Engine ran soilid for 4 1/2 hours straight. I was amazed at how many v-20s are in the...

    Best wax?

I should be done with the compounding of my hull this weekend and will hopefully be moving on to the wax. Anyone have any recommendations for a really good marine wax? I know they make this Teflon stuff now, and I used to use caranuba. Any thoughts on what works best?

Rod Box/Side Panel/Rod Pocket repair info

I am in the process of replacing my rod boxes on my v21 and it took me a while to find everything on this site. The search function is great, but tons of posts come up and sometimes they are called rod boxes, other times side panels.  To save time for the next person, I figured I would post...
