thanks for all the replies.
shrimpin ... i already have those corner mounts with the bungee strap. will see if i could trim down the lip.
reelapeelin and randle ... like the idea of using the starboard sliding on itself.
will keep you posted on what i come up with (if anything). if you...
well, i have the cute girl covered, maco.
there was no way i would spend the $200 ... now getting a pair of slides on ebay for $20, that is another option.
the issue is that there is a lip under my leaning post where the cooler is to go. i am pretty strong, but i would not want to...
was pricing a sliding cooler mount .. boy they are expensive. $150-$200
thought it may not be too hard to make one with stainless drawer slides. i want to keep a cooler under my leaning post, then slide it out when needed.
any ideas?
i bought a set of used 12x9 bennett tabs .. they get to my house and the guy does not send the mounting plates that attach to the transom. after months of back and forth, he stops emailing me. i guess he does not have them.
anyone have a set of mounting plates laying around? i think bennett...
i am in the market for some WHITE seaboard or starboard...
if you have any pieces that will fit the following sizes, let me know what you have and your price.
1" thick .. 1 piece 44" x 15" this is for my fish box cover
3/4" thick .. 1 piece 13" x 20" front anchor locker door
3/8"...
great!!! i also have a cc ('85) and have the same soft spot just forward of the seat/cooler. where you would put your feet if you were sitting on the seat in front of the center console..
let me know what you find .. or if i tear mine up first, i will post.
this seems to be the area above...
winnidave ... do you know what angle those rod holders are? the description says angled .. are they 30 degrees?
i was thinking of ordering some. also, do they come with mounting hardware?
thanks
Brad
i am actually about 8 miles south of the pocono raceway if you are nascar fan .. just off route 115. that is some distance from pecs pond, though. maybe 30-40 miles.
i do get by pecks pond once in a while when i am working that area. i am on the road alot in different areas.
i will take both...
rwilson, are these parts still available.
at the very least, i want to get 1 storage box that goes in the transom .. i do not need the lids, just the drop in box.
if he wants to sell both, depending in price, i will take them.
thanks
sounds like you have a plan ... i envy you being able to work on your boat all year round .. as i type this the temp here is 14 F.
get that baby in the water and let us know how she works !!! :sun:
another thing i have noticed while looking at pics of many consoles ... especially on the higher end CC's ... a lot of them do not have a windshield?
is that the new thing?
macojoe .. that is what i am thinking of .. i also think i can accomplish the same thing by just building up the area where the controls are ..
thanks for the link .. good photos there.
i thought of that .. but thought again that it would be easier just to build up the area where the guauges go and where the steering wheel goes.
the other problem is that standing up, you cannot see the gauges real good the way they are mounted .. they are designed to be seen if you are...
or anyone else who may have modded their center console.
i was searching old post last night and saw the photos both of you had when you re did your console.
i bought a leaning post/tackle center a while ago and have the console out of my boat now.
the leaning post dwarfs the console ...
WOW ... not too many strands making connection there.
good thing you found it while not on the water. i agree ... unbelievable that even the most backyard mechanic would have done that.
Electrical tape ..:nice:
