This may sound like a silly question but does anyone know if the cowling gasket is supposed to remain on the top or bottom cowling. And should it be affixed as mine falls off every time I remove the cowling . It always sticks to the top cowling but just before I set it on the deck the gasket...

As I mentioned a week ago I tried running her on a fresh outboard tank and had the very same issue. So I pulled the injectors and msent Them out. Got them back today and now she's purring like a kitten again ! As Phil Robertson would say, Happy Happy Happy !
