    Additional Bow weight

Thanks for the replies. I'll attach a picture of where the bags are. I feel pretty confident that it's not too much weight structurally speaking but I think I will remove one bag and see if it still maintains the great ride. I could put them in the locker in the cuddy but I like that space...

    Additional Bow weight

When I went from a 2 stroke 7.5hp to a 4 stroke 9.9 kicker motor with power trim it added probably 70+pounds to the rear of the boat. The addtion of bigger downriggers didn’t help either. I was taking water through the scuppers and would run the bilge every once in a while (not much water but...

    Xtreme control cables

Not currently in the water. It does shift fine when manually using the shift cable to the motor. I’m sure your right about being able to remove the handle, I just need to figure out how. It’s more complicated then just the bolt behind the handle. I saw I could get the Xtreems at West Marine...

    Xtreme control cables

I’ve tried adjusting the cables but cant get the 6”s in forward and still be able to put it in reverse. I messed around with it for quite awhile but the best I could get it to do was shift nicely into reverse and just grind in forward (or viseversa). I believe I need new cables or??? I have an...

    Shifter stickn

Mine was doing the same thing toward the end of the season last year. Today, on the first run of the season, it would not go into forward. Could you explain what it is they did?

    steering cable

Could you post a link to what you bought? The steering and shift cables on my boat are awful. I just got off the water for the first trip of the season and the boat would not shift out of reverse. The steering was like very difficult as well. Good thing I have a new kicker motor! Mine is an...

What you doing to boat this winter

I feel the same way about the over engineering. The bracket functions great and shows no sign of being overly stressed. My kicker is a 9.9 power thrust. It does have power tilt. Not at the moment but it will before it's put into use.

What you doing to boat this winter

So with the help of my son, I put the Honda on the boat today. I thought that I had read it weighed 115lbs but after consulting the manual, my exact model weighs 129lbs dry. My kicker bracket is rated for 125lbs max. Should I be concerned? The bracket functions great and seems solid.

What you doing to boat this winter

Thanks. I think I will put some heavier/usable items in the caddy this season and see how it goes. I am considering installing an ipilot setup at some point and that could help out a lot with the two batteries in the bow.

What you doing to boat this winter

Scott. Do you have any added weight to the bow? I believe we have similar set ups in regards to the I/O and kicker. My new kicker is probably a good 40-50lbs heavier then what I had on last season. I’m also adding another downrigger. I’m a bit concerned the bow will be riding higher then I’d...

What you doing to boat this winter

Hey! A fellow Michagander!!! I ended up buying a new honda 9.9 powerthrust with a 25***8221;shaft, electric start and trim. I***8221;m pretty stoked to get out there. I also picked up 3 used cannon mag 10TS***8221;s, a new ship to shore, some rod holder equipment and am rewiring some stuff...

    Bimini Sealer and Buff/Wax Questions

I think I’ll give the mop n glow a try. I will report the results. The hope is a easy clean deck that is not slippery. As for the hull, If a good cleaning doesn’t do it, I’ll probably purchase the wax/buff kit. Thanks for the tip on the 5200!

Nice! They are on my list. Some pics and the results of the sea trial would be much appreciated.

    Bimini Sealer and Buff/Wax Questions

Off subject but what do you all do with the “live well” in the middle of the deck? I put ice and salmon in there last summer but I don’t like that the blood and debris drain into the hull. It could be used for storage but definitely gets wet. Mine has a drain hole and a bilge pump it it. Thanks

    Bimini Sealer and Buff/Wax Questions

Thanks for the info. Do you wax the deck at all? I have read of people using mop n glow to make it easier to clean yet somehow not slippery? Any thoughts on the buffing kit? Thanks

    Bimini Sealer and Buff/Wax Questions

I did a bit of searching and it sounds like there are plenty of options and opinions on these matters. So, I thought it would be best to ask my fellow V20 owners. I have a punch list of projects to work on this spring, one of which is hooking up a new Honda 9.9 power thrust kicker motor! That...

    Expiration date on new flares

I’m not opposed to putting them to good use, shenanigans or otherwise. I had to mention it though as a fella in the area tried to use an expired flare in an emergency situation and ended up with a hole in his stomach.

    Expiration date on new flares

As for disposal of your expired flares, most counties have a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection program. You should be able to have them properly disposed of either at a collection event or a permanent drop off center.

What you doing to boat this winter

1). Repair the coolant leak. (Cam shaft sleeves) 2). Locate and repair the leak that is allowing water to mix in the trim reservoir. 3). Rebuild or replace the trim pump. 4). Add deck lighting. 5). Find and install new rod boxes. 6). Buy a 4 stroke 15hp kicker. 7). Buy and install...
