With any luck, I’ll be renting or possibly even purchasing a slip in the next year or so. I still want something trailerable though as I’ll fish distant ports on occasion.

I’ve heard good things about those boats. Few and far between in this area though. Maybe I need to start looking on the coast. I can pretty easily/safely tow around 12,000lbs so that is not an issue.

Did you ever end up doing this? I’m thinking about it and have the same concer with battery placement. I’d like to put them in the bow area but the pound on Lake Michigan is a real concern.

Thanks for the info. The more I think about it, I don’t believe that type of set up would work too well for slow trolling. The best options would probably be the Reactor 40 on my kicker or putting a minkota with ipilot on the bow. Not sure which would be the better way to go.

Would this system work with an I/O with manual cable steering? I have a kicker motor I troll with and have thought about putting the Garmin reactor 40 on that but I like the idea of having it on the main motor instead.
