    Random Picture Dump

Hammer, I had sliding barn doors built for my shop and I am sure they didn't cost 2800. The only draw back is that you need space on the sides for them to slide and not hang off the side of you building. My shop is 24' wide so my door opening is 12' (2-6' doors) wide and 10' high. I'll take...

    1998 Johnson 225?

Thanks for the info Ferm. I'm not sure if I have been using nautical miles or statute, that was a good point. I had been running a worn out 19p and my cruising rpms were 3500-4000. The reason that I went to the 21p was to lower my cruising rpms thinking that would increse my mpg's. I will...

steplift performance w/150 yamaha 4 stroke

I had to put off repowering this year since I built a shop and have plans for replacing my floor and repairing/replacing my stringers. I am definitely going with the f-150 and I am figuring an average of 4 mpg.

    1998 Johnson 225?

I have a 1996 225 loop with a 21pitch prop on my v-20 and I average 2 miles per gallon. I typically cruise between 3000-3500 and rarely run wot since this the 225 is more power than the boat needs or was designed for. I will say that it is a dependable good running engine.

    windshield support arms

I'm going to use the idea of the bimini top parts because I have most of the parts that I need. The previous owner of my boat changed one side with what looks like a swim platform support. The original side is pretty much shot and I have been looking for a good replacement.

    location of fuel filter/seperator

I like the bulb before the separator because priming is easier with a new empty filter. The boat building coast guard spec is running below deck fuel line from a permanantly mounted fuel tank to the fuel water sep assy then using regular fuel line and primer bulb after that. If your put the...

Which type of 2 stroke oil?

My rule of thumb is to use a manufacturers oil. These guys know that they have to warranty their motors so they have a better quality oil. The Walmart in my town has the Quicksilver and the Evinrude xd-25 for @ $22/gal. We've always referred to Penzoil as "yellow death". The last advice that I...

    bimini

Spend the extra and get canvas. I've always had good luck with the Carver sunbrella. I can measure mine tomorrow if you need the width. I also recomend the support poles to keep it out of the way when not in use.

    Stringer question

I am looking forward to seeing what you find and your fix. I've completely replaced my transom 2 seasons ago and I am now thinking of cutting out the floor and replacing my stringers. I planned on doing this this past winter but I have ran out of time. My floor does flex in rough water and I...

    Anyone looking to repower?

    I always pronounced them "FIX".

    35 mph

Sounds like you got your RPM's confused. Normally your RPM's will change @500 RPM's between prop pitches. And If the diameter is the same, you will turn @200 rpm's less changing from an alluminum to a stainless. Maybe this will help.

    Low RPMs

What type of yamaha? If the fuel system checks good, and you have an O2 sensor, it may need cleaning.

    79

Speaking of Wellcraft being all over the board, when I started to replace my transom I removed the metal tag with the hull ID #. I found that the tag stated the boat was a 1976 but the ingraving of the hull was a 1975. My title and registration have always stated 1975!

    Oceanpro burns all the fuel

I have a 1996 loop 225 Ocean Pro with a 19 pitch ss Viper prop (in average condition) and I get on the average 2 mpg while cruising. My top speed with 4 adults, 2 cases of beverage, 60 lbs of ice and 40 gallons of gas is 48mph and thats at 6000 rpms (which was probably 1 mpg). I usually...

    inexpensive boats

Mine is a 1975 and I got 3 years ago as a project with no idea how it would perform or ride. Now that it has hit its anniversary of its rebirth, my wife would get rid of me before the Jetty Rocker. It gets a lot of attention and compliments. We love it and the ride.

we need everyone to post up some more pics

What marina is that? I made my first trip from Hagley to Isle of Palms (Wild Dunes) this year and plan on making many more. Maybe I'll check out the marina. I work out of The Boat Shed Marina in Georgetown and we definitely need some boat washers like yours.

    235 johnson restart problems

I've seen some motors that if they a trimmed down to far will allow the floats to rise up and allow too much fuel in the bowl. next time you are out keep the engine level and see if this helps.

    Make my life easier

I have a friend that uses his camper only a couple of times a year and he swears that putting regular roofing tar paper (felt paper) between the tires and the ground keeps ants out. Around here we have lots of ants and I seen lots of boats with ants in them.

repowering my V20. need some advice

I have never heard of 26" shafts either however, if they DO exist, you could probably mount them in the top holes and be okay (for a single engine). I built my transom to 25" them mounted my engine in the second mounting hole which probabaly raised the engine 1-2 inches. Also I have seen and old...
