    narrowing my choices....

210000 miles on Dads 94 F150. Has not been run since april last year. Yesterday I put a battery to it and it cranked half a second before running. Not bad at all. Once I get the title to it I am selling my 96 GMC diesel and plan to fix up the old truck and drive it.

    Request for RidgeRunner

Billy in my thread, Cap is off, under general section there are pics of the three piece transom. I thought it was odd that three separate pieces were used. But it is easier to install that way.

    86 fuel tank removal

I pulled mine with the cap off. I used a chainsaw around the edges and no luck. I was lifting the back of the boat off the trailer. So I tear the front bulkhead out and go under the tank with the chainsaw as far as I could. My saw has a 22" bar. Try lifting again and still lifting the entire...

Repowering from 90 hp to 130 hp

Sad, my 1985 Johnson 150 would push my V20 28mph. Safe to say she was only putting out 90 horses. But she made up for it in reliability. I hope my Mercury holds up as well! I think a 130 or a 150 will do fine. But I am not excited about your engine choice. A good friend just bought a 60 ETEC...

    Cap is off

So far the wood chisel is the best tool for removing this paint. Takes quite a bit of elbow grease but its coming off! Working the keel now. Got the bulk off both sides and just have around the strakes left.

    Just bought a new boat

Ssiredfish does your 160 have a rear tankwell or the closed compartment? How did you mount your transducer? The dsi transducer must be mounted outside the hull. Once I looked at the 160 and got the price I pretty much said I will take it. I was planning to add a livewell but will try a floating...

    Just bought a new boat

I paid $657 for it as a dealer demo. One of the orbix hatches is a little sun faded and some paint is missing on the slidetrax rails.

    Just bought a new boat

Thanks for the input. So far I plan to mount a Lowrance Elite 4 DSI on the slidetrax dashboard with a tranducer mounting arm. Wont drill any holes until I am for sure on my mount, I do plan to have a rudder installed as well as a couple flush mount rod holders behind the seat. Maybe two scotty...

    Just bought a new boat

I am jittery enough with just the kayak. Let alone bringing some BUD. Destroyer I plan on wearing my inflateable like jacket. I wear it on the V and this is no different.

    Just bought a new boat

Well, my boat is in pieces scattered all the over the yard. The 18 Fish is a hopeless case. I have considered buying another hull to rig out but then I end up with yet another boat in the yard. So today I went down and dropped the down payment on a new boat. She is four feet shorter than the V20...

A little too much money for me. I was looking for a hull only.

    V20 Hawaiian Conversion

Kracker you can still do that. I have scrapped the pilot house design and opted for a center console cuddy conversion. Look at the Everglades with the console closed with glass on three sides. That is what I hope to build. Also plan to build side panels and a rear to close it off during winter...

Is it just the hull only? And what year is it? What is he asking?

    Got my jack plate installed!

I second what Destroyer said. Did you know there is a quarter inch gap between the actual transom core and the surface your motor bolts hit? its packed full of putty or it is supposed to be. If you are really worried about it add in some backing plates.

    Cap is off

Got to do a little sanding on the bottom paint today. It is much easier on a flipped hull. Got about half of the port(?) side done. The entire keel is still covered with bottom paint. And it is the worst. My plan to tackle the keel is 40 grit paper and a big fan. This paint is 3/16" thick in...
