    Bigger Boat Recommendations?

Parker makes a good quality boat (or they use to as Linwood and Robin have sold the company I believe). We had a 2120 sportcabin with a 200 yamaha hpdi. The thing with Parkers is the cabin is set so far forward that they ride like crap (in my opinion). Ride in a 21' Parker then ride in your V...

    Bigger Boat Recommendations?

I own a 23' Wellcraft Excel. Not a bad riding boat for it's size. Honestly I think the Excel/Wellcraft are better built then some of the other Wellcrafts. I think Gemar bought Excel and combined them will Wellcraft. We have spent the night on it but it's really like camping. For 3 people...

Why did I detail the V this weekend ?

Carnauba wax for clear vinyl? Hmmmmmm Clear vinyl is oil based product so that might have some legit effect.

    Xtreme control cables

Docking our boat is like trying to shift a 2 and 1/2 ton trunk with a bad clutch and rusty linkage. :oh::oh:

    Battery Cables for 18 Sport

I just made a few short cables to install a battery gauge which required a shunt. I made my own cables with this hydraulic crimper from harbor freight. https://www.harborfreight.com/hydraulic-wire-crimping-tool-66150.html

    Xtreme control cables

Looking forward to your report. I need to replace cables also. Wasn't sure if I was better off going with Yamaha cables or aftermarket.

    AutoPilot anyone?

Thanks for the info Skunk. I hear about the cost of running twins and fuel burn. We just did the exhaust kits on our motors. Just a click over 5k. Exhaust kits, water pumps, thermostats, zincs,VST filters. Looking at possibly semi retiring in 8 years (fingers crossed). The V 20 is...

new bimini, thanks for the heip

Looks great! That's a deal at $125 For comparison..... 3 yards of sunbrella is roughly $75 plus 50 cents a yard for binding.

    AutoPilot anyone?

Skunk, Do you know if Garmin would also need a flux compass along with the auto pilot? Just installed 2 Garmin 1040xs.

What you doing to boat this winter

Bgreene, First off the hull of the V 20 is more refined. It's a better hull and more predictable in my opinion. That's not to say that the 23 footers hull is bad it's just different. If I was running 20 miles in crappy conditions I would want to be in the 23 footer because it's a little...

What you doing to boat this winter

I've got to sell our 23' Wellcraft before we start doing anything to our V20. I do have lots of projects to do on our Stamas. Remove the old Raymarine plotter/fish finder/radar and install new Garmin equipment. I've got to do something to stiffen the inside cushions because they kill my...

    My first V20

I use an old Work mate bench by Black and Decker when servicing a lower unit. Use the wood vise to hold the unit in place Not sure it would work for all applications. https://www.homedepot.com/p/BLACK-DECKER-Workmate-425-30-in-Folding-Portable-Workbench-and-Vise-WM425/202516382

    Winter Cover

Destroyer, We ordered a 15 year inground pool cover 30'x45'. Worked excellent! The cover has a 2" web binding around the edge where the grommets are fastened to keep from pulling out. Made a ridge out of 2x3 and strapping and added 1/2" electrical conduit to keep snow from collecting. Great...

    Winter Cover

Thanks Destroyer We looked hard at the Grady Marlin and 29 Wellcraft. The Stamas has better access to all the systems which is important to me. The ride is surprisingly quite good considering it doesn't have a deep V and I'm comparing it to our 35 Bertram which was a beast.
