    Mariner 150 v/s mercury 225

I can but I won't, Kamikaze. I agree with you 100%. Don't get me wrong, I do like the bracket. But what a lot of work and $$$ to get it right/or my idea if right in any case.. Hydraulic steering is almost mandatory, extending the cables and harness and all the little things that got...

    I got down, down pat.

I am so much better, just a little down yet. MJ, you are inspiring my friend. You certainly have had a lot to deal with. Tough as a cut nail you are. Destroyer is correct about the Gastroparesis. It isn't a very well known disease, at least I hadn't heard of it before I contracted it...

    I got down, down pat.

I have been feeling better than I have in the past 2 years. Just got back from the doctors office. Coming up is an MRI for a mass on my thoracic vertabra (NEW and Scary), Colonoscopy (due to history of colon cancer), upper endoscopy(Barrett's Esophogus), treadmill and echo cardiogram (Prior...

    Running without a Battery Switch

Maybe that is a sign, we need to get our otherwise handicapped arses together. Maybe between the two of us we can find a happy medium and figure this thing out. Your obviously slated to be the brains of the operation , I'll be the ballast.. v1 :fam: It has fuel,(God only knows if it will burn)...

    Running without a Battery Switch

Convenient for sandbar music listening when you can isolate the one battery that will carry you home. BUT Necessary? No, especially on a skiff. It is a couple more copper connectors that can corrode behind the body of the switch itself and you won't know what is going on until your eat...

    Trailer brakes and bearings....

I agree with Destroyer on this one, unless there is excessive wear leave them alone. Good work on getting your hands dirty. It is gratifying, if not frustrating at times. Labor of love thing, thanks for sharing too..good info. Merry Christmas!

Makes me glad I don't have a YAMAHA.

I might have mentioned to Ferman and a few others that I had a friend twith a 200 Yamaha 4-stroke that flushed his motor religiously. Literally after every outing it is lift kept and the hose would go on it for 10 minutes while we cleaned up, it was the ritual. That motor developed a leak thru...

these trucks are so hot...... but.

The county has one with a boom mounted brush hog. Wicked hill going platform, but yeah, slow and all hydraulic. Like they need one, snark, snark, the guy writing the acqusition papers was probably just like me. Gotta get one...What is the cost of one Bret? I'd think $125K maybe :money:

If your just talking WANTS I will take a Minzi Muck and maybe convert it over from an excavator to a people hauler. I don't even know why, I just want one...

these trucks are so hot...... but.

Have Ferman put his hands on that turbo-diesel in the MOG. All others run for cover. LOL! I sat in a Tundra once, it seemed like all the other high end Japanese trucks. Land Cruiser comes to mind. Too much foo foo, I still don't get it, I will probably never own a JEEP either. Different...

I'll continue to be stupid and buy GM, but thanks. If those numbers come up I think, Unimog. Arnolds Old Sled will do.. http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a8642/arnold-schwarzenegger-custom-unimog-for-sale/

Off the end of ramp..........trailer retrieval

Not to derail but the most common "Offence" or "Error" I see is the folks back their trailers too far back whilst loading. The trailer is often buried so deep that the bunks aren't even touching the hull when the bow is winched all the way up. They go to pull the rig out and, " OH NO IT IS...

Off the end of ramp..........trailer retrieval

Aluminum I -beam trailers with wood bunks and tandem axles float with no boat on them they are so bouyant. It is a PITA at times. ie. loading on certain ramp angles and stiff currents/wind taking the trailer wherever they want, meanwhile your mooring the boat or trying to get tied off and pull...

Questions about I/o to outboard conversion

Let her eat. That is a good sign for sho. Bret I will try to get another pic uploaded for you. Spot on with that prop. That is cooking on water in a old antique boat.. LOL! :news::time::clap:

    Max horsepower

I think it helps to get the propeller into cleaner water, maybe a little top end gain. I never ran the boat without the bracket, so I do not know for sure..

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Yeah, same boat. Loving the 4 -stroke BUT that big lower might have me drafting a bit more WOT. 24 hours and due for the oil change I keep putting it off... Not using any boat much. That is a lot of hours, you obviously live the life. Good for you brother. With the oysters: Was it...
