I went over to the dark side

My waterline only went down about 3/4" at the transom. I haven't moved the batteries to the cuddy yet. I found a 35 Triton in out warehouse with triples. The starboard engine has a 21" Tempest and the center engine has a 21" Mirage. More prop testing to follow.

I went over to the dark side

I started with the Laser only because it's what I had with the 225 Yamaha. The rev 4 had a great cruise and a top end of 45 kts and 5600 or so rpms. I might fool around some more with props as I find them on customer's boats at my marina. I think I can get ahold of a 21 Mirage and a 21 Tempest.

I went over to the dark side

well so far so good. I launched the boat Saturday. I started with the same prop I used with the 225 Yamaha. A 19" Laser. I ended up at 46 knots hitting the rev limiter. Today I tried a 19" revolution 4. The cruise rpm's were better but it was too rough to open it up. Maybe tomorrow. Your right...

I went over to the dark side

No real updates to speak of. I acquired a 70 Yamaha for it. But that's it. The motor is on a stand in my shop and the Bullet is sitting in my back yard. I need to finish my VW and my dad's boat before I can start any other project. The car is about 75% done. And my dad's boat is only about...

I went over to the dark side

It's a 2007 225 Optimax with 1033 hours. It came off one of the towboats I work on. I worked out a deal with my boss that he couldn't resist. My old 225 Yammie was giving me problems last year so I removed it and bought a fully dressed 150 powerhead from Barnegatv20. So it is a proper 150.

    150 Yamaha with extra parts

I'm selling my 150 Yamaha. The model number on the clamp bracket is 150 etxf but the powerhead is from Barnegatv20 and I think it was etxh if I remember right. The motor ran great. Compression was 120psi on all cylinders. I recently replaced the water pump and resealed the lower unit. I also...

I went over to the dark side

the sticker on the motor says it weighs 517lbs. But the Mercury factory service manual says 460 something if I remember right. My old Yamaha is probably 430 ish. I'm gonna sell the Yammie. Included will be an extra gearcase, clamp bracket, tach, key switch, oil tank, and all wiring. Check the...

I went over to the dark side

not this dark side I'm talking this dark side so off with the old 150 Yammie and on with the new (to me) Opti. I still have some rigging to connect. But that won't take long. I'm probably going to move the batteries to the cuddy to balance out the extra weight. I can't...

    Parrot's Description

there are plans for dredging. It should be happening right after the cleanup. There is a big tree on the sand bar in front of my marina. What size Grady did you get? Please tell me it's got a Mercruiser. Not something else.

    Parrot's Description

I have run up and down the river a lot. It's all good. At high tide you have to watch for an occasional 2x6 or something floating around. During striper season I keep my boat at Garden State Marina. It is literally minutes from the inlet. I just found out this morning that the clean up has been...

    Parrot's Description

I have spent a considerable amount of time on the bay in the past 3 months. And yes there is a lot of stuff out there. But I have yet to see a car and really only one complete house in the water. There is plenty of sections of houses over by Gunners Ditch and Herring Island. I ran my v20 in...

    Sandy

I spent the weekend salvaging boats. Frustration levels are at an all time high everywhere you go. I got to see first hand the new inlets through Mantoloking. Houses in the middle of the bay, debris everywhere. More and more looting. More and more military moving in. Still lots of areas with no...

    Sandy

we rode out the storm without problem. We only lost power for about 2 hours on Sunday. My Dad however didn't do so good. He and my stepmother got out in time but the house was consumed by 4ft of seawater. My marina lost approx. 30 boats, they floated away. There was almost 3ft of water in my...

I finally got a Bullet Boat

It was for sale for 550 but I got it for 425. I plan on racing it next summer with a local club that races speed skiffs, garveys, hydros, and these things. It is a 13 footer and the 70 should push it around 55 or so. I had a 90 Yammie on the last one I owned and that did 61. I plan on opening up...

I finally got a Bullet Boat

Well I finally found one. I got a text from my friend at 6:30 this morning. "Sorry for the text so early but it can't wait. There is a Bullet Boat for sale on craigslist and it won't last". So I went right to the laptop and found the listing. It was only in the next town over. So I responded. By...
