your 82 was before the foamed in tanks? Bilge passes under tank? PVC pipe or wood & glass? Tank in good shape?...thats OLD! I did an aluminum replacement and re-foamed it in. I think plastic would be better. I have since seen a Moeller 55 that will work. I would keep the tank aft.

I don't think a washdown pump will prime if it has to pull water up an empty 1" pvc tube. Download the op manual before you buy....

if threads are gone you are in a losing battle. You might have luck with threaded inserts aka T nuts or burled nuts. Maybe consider a new tank. Looks like you got your moneys worth out of that one. Gas in bilge is nothing to fool with. Water in gas is nothing to fool with.
