Have any of you guys come across a marine conversion for a Mercedes 300D motor? The torque specs, HP, max RPM's are very similar to the Cummins Mercruiser 1.7L motor. I know that these motors can go 400K+ in the cars and used motors at the junkyards out here are around $500/each I know...

The motor I just picked up has a lightly scored cylinder that can probably honed out. If for whatever reason it can't be honed . . . I was thinking about having the cylinder replated . . . since the early mercs are all chrome bore motors. Has anyone ever used these guys or has an cylinder...
