    Internet Sales Tax

Brick and mortar invest in communities, employ personnel, pay utilities and local taxes. B&M are the inneficient economic pumps that help communities spend the same money multiple times. I say that has earned them the right to a level playing field. How about the local mom and pop tackle store...

    Internet Sales Tax

Cannot agree with you Destroyer. Remember our fearless leader picking favorites? Goverment should not be allowed to look the other way while internet businesses crush it in profits leaving the brick and mortars to wother away leaving empty shells across our nation. I've bought over $3000...

    Internet Sales Tax

Glad this thread is getting more on track with correct information. Only thing I havent seen mentioned is these mom and pop stores will not be affected unless they do more than a million in business annually. Ever since I got on my IRS payment plan I pay close attention to tax laws. Lets face...

How far have you taken your V20 - V21 ?

Garage has me beat, good to know I'm not the only one that ventures out that far but for me it was 50 miles out of Beaufort Inlet in North Carolina to the Gulf Stream. I had to bring 30 gallons in 5 gallon jugs for that trip. 160 miles round trip at a burn rate of 2.1 MPG.

    Bow eye replacement

I took a piece of 3/4" birch and shaped it to fit snug to the inside of the hull to help distribute the weight over a larger area and then put a piece of aluminum plate over that with holes drilled in it. Ran the U-bolt through all of it. 4200 to prevent moisture from getting to the block of wood.

    Found something nice

The boat looks great but the price is too high IMO. 20 YO boat with an 8 year old motor. He wants to get the money from all his upgrades/maintenance out of it but we all know that just doesn't happen. Like those house shows everybody believes there boat is more special than those around it. I...

    If your boat could talk.......

Mine would ask whatever happened to the blonde I took off shore, the one that was willing to do ANYTHING for good luck. Funny thing is that we had a double hook-up of mahi in the process.

For those with a fetish for bowflare.

Looks like he is building those based off those kits you buy out of Southport, NC. Same kit that has the couple hundred page thread on THT where the guy has been building it out for the last two years. Pretty neat deal so long as you have a bunch of time and patience.....or just hire this fella.

    Cap is off

Something that can be completely glassed in one session and then bolted or screwed to the boat is a good candidate for vinylester; pilot house, tackle station You can start a project with epoxy and come back within 24 hours without having to sand and you will still get a chemical bond...

    Cap is off

One thing I would research if I do it again is vinylester. I never dreamed I would have gone through 21 gallons on epoxy on this project. I would still use epoxy on some items but my larger layups like the stringers that soaked up gallons in one layup probably could have been done with...

    Cap is off

Looks like just a bad case of gelcoat blisters. Personally I would sand with something a little more aggressive like 80 grit, wipe down, spray several coats of a2000 (4 or 5 coats) since you don't need to sand between coats the more the better and skip the part where you fill with thickened...

    Cap is off

That performance vc is a great product, painted about 4 coats with 30 minutes between coats and sanded down to my desired finish. Used a2000 for a primer because I had exposed fibers from my hull being in such bad shape. I sprayed a nice thick coat, sprayed with black spray paint, sanded with...
