Good point about memories - I still have the old fiberglass trolling and trout spinning rods from when I was a pretty young kid fishing with my dad. It’s nice to look at them and remember those times, but they don’t go with me when I hit the river.

I hope you did, or will, buy it. You love to fish, appreciate cool stuff, and it’s only $85 (or maybe less after Christmas). It’s not like you’re buying another V20 or a new truck.

We put a “T” out the back of my son’s stove, so the residue has a place to drop down out of the way between cleanings, and burning dry wood really limits the buildup. I think that most of his wood being hardwood helps too.

DRY wood, and some source of makeup air (you gotta have air coming in to replace what’s going up the chimney- you probably knew that anyway) - you won’t get creosote buildup in your chimney and shouldn’t smoke up the house. My son and family next door are using our old Jotul stove - smelling...
