i found a lower unit i've been looking for. according to the guy it came off a mid 90's motor. its been pressure and vacuum checked. according to him it has no metal shavings on the drain plugs and the oil is clean. The price is $600. Should i jump on it or pass it up?

I got my V back from the shop yesterday, and acccording to the mechanic repairs would cost around $800 at least. I am looking for a lower unit for a Yamaha L150ETXJ. Its a 1986 150 horsepower, 25" shaft counter rotation lower unit. I've heard that this same lower unit fits all 1986 Yamaha 150-250 horsepower motors. Also, if anybody knows where i can get one rebuilt at a decent price let me know.

I know this has happened to many people but today my dad was looking at the bow of my V20 and when he stood up he forgot about the extreme bow flare and hit his head right on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm thinking about repowering my 83 V20 with an Evinrude E-Tec. as old as the transom is what is the biggiest engine i should put on it? it currently has a johnson 150 vro on it. does anybody currently own a V20 with an E-Tec?
